Truck hire with driver in Cape Town
Need a truck but not the hassle of driving one? Hire a truck with a driver for moving, deliveries, events or bulk transport, priced by the hour, the day or the load depending on the vehicle.
Truck-and-driver hire versus self-drive rental
With truck-and-driver hire, the driver is supplied with the vehicle. You don't need a heavier licence code, you don't carry the risk of driving an unfamiliar truck, and the driver knows how to load and secure goods. With self-drive rental you collect the vehicle, drive it yourself and are responsible for it.
Axious Removals offers truck hire with a driver. Loading help can be added if you need it.
Common uses
- Moving furniture and household goods
- Transporting stock, equipment or exhibition material
- Collecting building materials from suppliers
- Removing bulky items and clearing out storage units
Picking a truck
Check two numbers on each vehicle listing:
- Payload (kg): how much weight the vehicle can legally carry.
- Load volume (m³): how much space there is.
Bulky, light loads such as furniture usually fill the space first. Dense loads such as sand, stone or rubble usually reach the weight limit first.

Truck hire with driver: common questions
Do I need a special licence to hire a truck?
No. Our trucks are hired with a driver, so you do not drive the vehicle yourself.
What is the difference between payload and volume?
Payload is the maximum weight the vehicle may carry, in kilograms or tonnes. Volume is the size of the load space, in cubic metres. Heavy materials reach the payload limit first, while bulky furniture usually fills the space first.
Is there a minimum hire period?
Some vehicles have a minimum charge or minimum number of hours. This is shown in the pricing section of each vehicle listing.
